16-year-old Amina Filali swallowed rat poison after enduring 5 months of beatings at the hands of her rapist/husband. She had been accosted and raped on the street by a stranger in Morocco at the age of 15. She did not tell her parents for 2 months, according to her father. When she complained and the family reported the rape, the Moroccan legal system suggested marriage as a way of preserving the family "honor". The rapist initially refused to marry her, then relented in order to avoid the 10 to 20 year prison sentence for raping a minor. Internet activists in Morocco are outraged and are trying to get Article 475 of the penal code removed. This is a law that allows kidnappers to avoid prosecution by marrying their victims.

Congress is being cut out of the War Powers process. Congress objects. President and staff apparently believe they can make war decisions in consultation with the United Nations, and not with the rest of us. Hat Tip Amusing Bunni but this is no joke.

I saw a tweet that a lib said we conservatives did not just lose a soldier when Andrew Breitbart died, we lost an entire division. Too true. He was fearless.  He marched his spies into the heart of ACORN offices in the sting operation that collapsed ACORN completely. He brought down Anthony Weiner. And he was constantly on the move looking for material to disable and destroy leftists. Odd that he quietly drops dead hours before he planned to release material he said would be devastating to Barack Obama.  Yes, his family claims he had heart trouble.  But that does not rule out other causes of death.  In fact, what on EARTH were the people thinking when they hastily announced him dead of "natural causes" hours after his death.  Of course he may have died from a heart attack.  But shouldn't there be a proper autopsy first before any official announcement?  The way this death has been handled has been unusual.
