ATTN: CA BLOGGERS! Anti Gay History in CA schools Petition drive has started!
October 12, 2011 is the deadline to turn in over 500,000 valid registered-voter signatures in order to get a measure on the ballot to reverse the horrible decision by the CA legislature and Governor Brown to teach our ELEMENTARY SCHOOL CHILDREN about the SEXUAL ORIENTATION AND PREFERENCE of historical figures in the CA Social Science curriculum. The petitions should be available later this week, after the lawyers review the measure and give the OK.

It requires a selective treatment of history by requiring that only events that reflect positively on people in the LGBT community may be discussed.
It creates conflict between schools and families over the values children learn.

It threatens charter schools that are renewing their communities, taking away their freedom to offer instruction focused on academics instead of politics.
