Here's what he said, in a nutshell: Nothing has changed, I still don't get it, and I intend to carry on as before. The second he said that the American people are thinking, in response to all his spending, is "what's in it for me?" I knew, beyond any shadow of any doubt, that he doesn't get it. The question is not what can I get from the government, but what can we do for our country. The Senate opened debate Wednesday on a plan to raise the nation's debt limit by $1.9 trillion, a move that Democrats hope will see the Treasury through this fall's congressional elections.The record increase would raise the Treasury's legal ceiling for borrowing to $14.3 trillion -- about the size of the nation's overall economy. The Commissioner, Reva Goetz, was expecting Brit Brit in court today, but was brutally rebuffed by Brit’s people, who urged her to stay away. Just as expected, there was an onslaught of reporters and snappers there awaiting her arrival. Goetz said, “The court was supposed to meet with Ms. Spears this afternoon and there was a misunderstanding. I’m going to continue the matter until next Friday at 1:30 and she will be here.” Goetz didn’t get the memo that shopping is more important than crazy ol’ court. Britney rewarded herself for missing a date with the paparazzi court by going on a shopping spree at a jewelry store and a Barnes & Noble. Either way, it’s good to see her happy…except when she’s wearing a blue wig and talking in a British accent.

I love a good, optimistic attitude, and that is why I loved this Red State article: Maybe the Dems are waking up to the toxic politics of their health deform (H/T Erickson) and WaPo linked to above is reporting the Dems working feverishly to cut some kind of deal that gets 218 and 60 to try and get it off the front page. The "Toxic" singer is said to be distraught after learning that Trawick had been flirting with two women at a bar, reports contactmusic.com. "Jason left the bar with two bottles of water and a stunning blonde who looked like Britney. He had his arms around her and they looked very much like they were together for the night," said a source. "When she heard he had been caught cosying up two girls in the bar, she got furious.
